How to Make a CV
A CV, or Curriculum Vitae, is a comprehensive collection of professional experiences, accomplishments, and skill, similar to a résumé. While folks in industry often use a résumé, CVs are more common in academia. One of the main differences between a CV and a résumé is that a CV is not restricted to a page. This means you can (and should) include much more detail about all of your accomplishments.
Below we have included an reference CV where each section contains an outline and an example element. Please use the arrows on your keyboard to navigate through the pages. Some of these sections are optional and the section headers can be catered to best describe your story. To create your CV, you can find templates on Word or Overleaf. When possible, I recommend hyperlinking relevant papers or websites within your CV. Once you've completed your CV, its is best to name the file with your initials or last name.
