Our Mission

We started this project because we realized that succeeding in undergrad and advancing to higher education/industry with a background in (astro)physics requires information and skills that are not readily and evenly passed on to all undergraduates. We see this as a disadvantage to individual students from underrepresented backgrounds as well as the scientific community at large. To address this, we intend to work in multiple different directions to support and educate our undergraduates on career knowledge. We also aim to enhance the accessibility of necessary tools and opportunities, which build experiences beyond the classroom. Our intention is to carry out CAPYBARA in phases corresponding to each of the primary goals outlined below. Accomplishing each of these goals heavily relies on crowdsourcing information, resources, and perspectives from members of the astrophysics community.

Demystifying Timeline

Clearly communicate the goals and timeline of ones undergraduate career, explicitly outlining objectives and goals for each step in the physics/astronomy undergraduate program.
